LAUNCH EVENT IN MIAMI
El Ibero-American Film Festival Miami (IAFFM) concluyó el pasado jueves 14 de septiembre con gran éxito su emocionante evento de lanzamiento oficial celebrado en el corazón de Downtown Miami. Esta vibrante velada marcó el inicio de la cuenta regresiva hacia la esperada sexta edición del IAFFM, programada para realizarse del 2 al 10 de febrero de 2024 en la ciudad de Miami, Florida, con sede oficial en el Silverspot Cinema.
Durante el anuncio oficial de la próxima edición se presentó el cartel oficial del IAFFM 2024, resultado de un concurso que atrajo el talento de artistas locales donde la Venezolana Luz Maria Charlita fue ganadora.
El evento de lanzamiento se llevó a cabo en Mana Common, uno de los partners oficiales del IAFFM, y superó todas las expectativas. La velada estuvo repleta de cultura, arte y entretenimiento, y contó con un animado cocktail, música en vivo y un emocionante show especial que incluyó una pasarela presentada por la reconocida diseñadora flamenca Rocío Peralta.
Como sorpresa especial también se anunció que la mundialmente reconocida actriz española Carmen Maura será una de las invitadas especiales para la 6ta edición, estará acompañando su película “Como el Mar” dirigida por el director Nicolás Gil Lavedra, escrita y protagonizada por Zoe Hochbaum y donde tambíen actúa Sofia Gala.
The Ibero-American Film Festival Miami (IAFFM) successfully concluded its exciting official launch event in the heart of Downtown Miami on Thursday, September 14. This vibrant evening marked the beginning of the countdown to the highly anticipated sixth edition of IAFFM, scheduled to take place from February 2 to 10, 2024, in the city of Miami, Florida, with its official headquarters at the Silverspot Cinema.
During the official announcement of the upcoming edition, the official poster for IAFFM 2024 was unveiled, the result of a competition that attracted the talent of local artists, with Venezuelan artist Luz Maria Charlita being the winner.
The launch event was held at Mana Common, one of IAFFM’s official partners, and it exceeded all expectations. The evening was filled with culture, art, and entertainment, featuring a lively cocktail reception, live music, and an exciting special show that included a runway presentation by the renowned flamenco designer Rocío Peralta.
As a special surprise, it was also announced that the globally acclaimed Spanish actress Carmen Maura will be one of the special guests for the 6th edition, accompanying her film “Como el Mar,” directed by Nicolás Gil Lavedra, written and starring Zoe Hochbaum, and also featuring Sofia Gala.

Con la presencia estelar de la enorme actriz española, Carmen Maura, el Ibero-American Film Festival Miami fue presentado oficialmente en Madrid, y en esta sexta edición España será el país invitado.
Esta ha sido la primera vez en la historia del festival, que el lanzamiento oficial se realizó fuera de Miami, en donde ya fue presentado el pasado 14 de septiembre.
El evento contó con la presencia de Carmen Maura, ganadora de cuatro premios Goya y especialmente reconocida por su colaboración con el director Pedro Almodóvar en películas icónicas como “Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios” y “¿Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto?”.
La cita fue en el hotel Only You.
With the stellar presence of the renowned Spanish actress Carmen Maura, the Ibero-American Film Festival Miami was officially presented in Madrid, and in this sixth edition, Spain will be the guest country.
This marked the first time in the festival’s history that the official launch took place outside of Miami, where it was previously presented on September 14. The event was graced by the presence of Carmen Maura, a four-time Goya Award winner, especially recognized for her collaboration with director Pedro Almodóvar in iconic films such as “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown” and “What Have I Done to Deserve This?”.
The gathering took place at the Only You Hotel.

Este emocionante evento de lanzamiento marcará el inicio de la cuenta regresiva hacia el IAFFM 2024, programado para realizarse del 2 al 10 de febrero en la ciudad de Miami, Florida, con sede oficial en el Silverspot Cinema.

El Ibero-American Film Festival Miami dio inicio a su serie de proyecciones mensuales empezando el pasado Martes 25 de Julio con la película REBELIÓN, con motivo de las fiestas patrias de Colombia en colaboración con la Academia de las Ciencias y Artes Colombianas.
Al finalizar, tuvimos un Q&A con el encargado de la producción musical Julio Bague para contarnos su experiencia trabajando en una película en época de pandemia y el objetivo de plasmar a una de las figuras más importantes de la salsa, Joe Arroyo
The Ibero-American Film Festival Miami began its series of monthly screenings last Tuesday, July 25th with the film REBELIÓN, on the occasion of Colombia’s national holidays in collaboration with the Colombian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
At the end of the screening, we had a Q&A with the person in charge of music production Julio Bague to tell us about his experience working on a film in times of pandemic and the goal of capturing one of the most important figures in salsa, Joe Arroyo.
