On November 5, Mexican cinema and its protagonists will be honored at the Tribute Night Celebration Party, which will take place at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami’s famous JW Arena, on the 19th floor. The gala will include the screening of Noche de fuego, the praised film by Tatiana Huezo, inspired on the novel Prayers for the Stolen by Jennifer Clement. This story about the violence spawned by drugtrafficking, told from the perspective of a group of teenagers, has garnered many accolades during its tour of international film festivals. At Cannes, it deserved a special mention at the “A Certain Look” competition, as well as a ten-minute standing ovation from the audience. In addition, this film will represent Mexico in the 94th edition of the Academy Awards. The director will be present during this exhibition.
Gran celebración al cine mexicano
El 5 de noviembre, el JW Marriott Marquis Miami será el anfitrión de la Noche de Tributo al Cine Mexicano y sus protagonistas, a celebrarse en la famosa JW Arena, en el piso 19. Esa noche se proyectará Noche de fuego, el aclamado filme de Tatiana Huezo, inspirado en la novela Prayers for the Stolen de Jennifer Clement. En su tour por los principales festivales internacionales, la cinta –que muestra la violencia generada por el narcotráfico desde la perspectiva de unas adolescentes– cosechó críticas positivas. Baste decir que en Cannes obtuvo una mención especial dentro de la competencia “Una cierta mirada”, así como una ovación de diez minutos por parte del público. Además, esta película representará a México en la edición 94 de los Premios de la Academia. Esta función contará con la presencia de la cineasta.
