Although the official opening of the IAFFM is until tomorrow, November 3, the organizing team decided to schedule the first screening for this afternoon, in order to coincide with the Día de Muertos, the Mexican festivity that honors the loved ones who have departed, keeping them alive in memory and hearts. The selected work is Catalina la Catrina, an animated film by the Mexican Edino Israel for the whole family. The Miami families, specially the children, are welcome to attend the Silverspot Cinema, attired in costumes alluding to this festivity. They will be greeted at the entrance by a young woman dressed like the main character and they will also be given sweets and chocolates. This is our heartfelt and festive way of bringing young audiences closer to film productions from Latin America, Spain and Portugal.

Si bien la inauguración oficial del Ibero-American Film Festival Miami es mañana 3 de noviembre, el equipo organizador decidió programar la primera proyección para esta tarde, a fin de coincidir con la tradición mexicana de Día de Muertos, que permite honrar a los seres queridos que se adelantaron y mantenerlos vivos en los corazones. Para ello se eligió la película animada Catalina la catrina, del cineasta mexicano Edino Israel. Dirigida a toda la familia, recibirá en la sala del Silverspot Cinema a familias de Miami y, de manera especial, a niñas y niños, a quienes se les invitó a que asistieran con disfraces alusivos a esta celebración. A la entrada, los recibirá una joven ataviada como el personaje protagónico y se les obsequiarán dulces y chocolates. De esta forma cálida y festiva se busca acercar a los públicos jóvenes a las producciones de América Latina, España y Portugal.
